Qualities: Honeysuckle is a known laxative and diuretic, antioxidant, and promotes sweating and detoxification of the body (in turn lowering fever during sickness). Although some health benefits demand further research, this flowering plant makes a tasty addition to various recipes and is often simply enjoyed for its subtle sweetness and aroma. Mainly regarded in TCM, the Honeysuckle has long been used as a natural home remedy to treat inflammation, stomach upset, upper respiratory infections, fever and more. Honeysuckle in particular has been shown to offer numerous pharmacological benefits. According to scientific studies, Honeysuckle’s unique antimicrobial properties defend against several harmful bacteria associated with staph, strep, e. coli, cholera, salmonella, pneumonia, meningitis, tuberculosis, and dysentery.*

Common Use: It is used to treat a variety of ailments such as fevers, ulcers, inflammation, and sore throats to skin infections. Honeysuckle flower may be used internally, drank as tea, or externally used for wash/bath soak. It is commonly used to treat symptoms of dizziness such as feeling dizzy, thirst, excessive sweating, or diarrhea. It is also used to treat flu, cold, sore throat, tonsillitis, hemorrhoids, lung and skin infections such as boils and skin sores.*

How to use it: Infuse it with boiling hot water for 2-5 minutes, and enjoy the tea.
